Law of Vibration – What Drum Beat Are You Beating? By Donna Himel

My son, Josh’s favorite gift this Christmas was a PS3 and one of his favorite games was Rock Band.  The whole family played it for hours on Christmas day and the week following Christmas.  The purpose of the game is to emulate the beat of a professional drummer during certain popular songs.  You get rated according to how well you do that.  It looks so easy but in reality it is incredibly challenging.  (I got booed off the stage the first time I tried it.)  Even though it’s hard it’s really fun.  Watching Josh play this game made me think about the power of a drum beat in creating vibrations.  I love Esther Hicks analogy of how our thoughts and words become a drum beat which create the frequency at which we vibrate and therefore attract things into our life.

What vibration are you creating and emanating with your persistent and habitual thoughts, feelings and words?  If you start to evaluate the thousands of thoughts you have or words you speak in a day, you can see a pattern you create every day.  Are you going around beating the drum of “I don’t have enough money, I don’t have enough money” or “things just don’t work out for me”, “things just don’t work out for me”, or “life is so hard”, “life is so hard”?  If so, then you are creating more situations of not having enough money, life not working out for you and life being so hard.  We live in a world of vibration and like attract like so you will only attract into your life the things which are a match to you.  Like your radio, you will only pick up the channel you are on the same frequency with.

What does this mean?  As long as you are beating the drum of not having enough money, or of being sick, it is impossible to attract abundance and wellness into your life because those frequencies don’t match.  “But”, you may say, “What I’m thinking or saying is true, I really don’t have enough money and I really am sick.” So what?  True only means that you have focused on something long enough that your attention was drawn to it, you created the vibration of it and therefore attracted it into your life through the law of vibration.  Maybe it’s been true for a very long time.  Maybe you’ve always been broke or sick but that only means this is the drum beat you have gotten into the habit of beating.  You can begin to change that today by changing your thoughts, your words and your beliefs.  You’ve simply created a habitual way of thinking and speaking which may have been passed down to you through your family, ancestry or environment.  It is in your power, however, to change that now!

Like the Rock Band game, I saw Josh get better and better at emulating the beat of professionals.  With practice, you too can change the vibration at which your thoughts are beating.    If you want to change the circumstances in your life then you have to change the frequency at which you are vibrating.  You have to line up with your desires.  Emulate the pattern of thoughts which people who have achieved their dreams have created.

Stop beating the drum of things you don’t want!  Stop focusing on, complaining about, blogging about and talking incessantly about them.  Start today to focus instead on what you do want!  Start to imagine how that would feel, how wonderful that would be.  Even if it is only for a few minutes every day, allow your imagination to create the positive emotions which are a vibrational match to the feelings you would experience if you achieved your deepest desires.   Create a different beat and begin to believe that you are worthy of abundance, wellness, fulfillment and success.  Memorize affirmations like:  “I am worthy of success” or “there is nothing separating me from my infinite power to create except my belief that I am separate” or “I deserve to be happy and fulfilled.”  Like a snowball, these thoughts will attract more and more similar thoughts and you will be on your way to becoming the creator of your life rather than the observer of it.
