The Real Issue
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
Most of the time when we are upset it is not for the reason we think it is. “My boss said something to me I didn’t like, my girlfriend hurt my feelings, my kids are driving me crazy”. These are all things we may have been upset about, but the real issue is almost always something deeper. Is it an underlying feeling of inadequacy? Are we at a place of growth that has us feeling overwhelmed? Until we stop and identify the real issue we will continue to project on what has our attention. Get to a place of calm. Find a moment of inner peace and ask yourself, “what is really happening here?”
I will begin to look beyond those situations that have my immediate attention and work to understand what the real issue is.
