Let Go of the Oars: Create Financial Freedom Now by Donna Himel

“Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream”. Not furiously or fiercely, but gently.

True financial freedom is the absence of resistance. Some of us feel too guilty if we’re not working hard enough and achieve success effortlessly and easily. If we don’t have bloody knuckles and an aching back, we don’t feel we deserve to achieve success.

Many times it is our own set of rigid rules which keep us from allowing abundance and ease to flow effortlessly into our lives. We have been programmed or conditioned into believing that there’s “no gain without pain”.

Life’s not supposed to be hard; it is not supposed to be a struggle. It is only our resistance to getting into the flow of life which makes it hard. We all have something we are gifted to do: a unique set of gifts and talents to offer to the world and from which we can prosper and thrive. We don’t have to work our fingers to the bone to create financial freedom and abundance.

If you get on a boat for a ride down the river, you don’t turn and start paddling upstream. Some people do this in life because that seems more admirable, respectable and more “worthwhile”. Besides, we think since everyone else seems to be paddling furiously and working so hard, this is the right thing to do! Right? Wrong!

Just turn around and “go with the flow”. Allow things to happen. Everything valuable is downstream. All the good stuff (the joy, the fulfillment, the peace) is downstream.

Most of the work is internal (visualization, meditation, affirmation, imagination). No amount of work and effort in the external world can compensate for the power of internal work. Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, or any other successful man does not have any more time in a day then a manual labor making minimum wage. They have used the power of their minds and their gifts to create abundance.

Do the internal work and then go with the flow. Trust me, the ride will be sweet!
